This month, WJGS had an amazing day of sport as they were visited by members of the Premier League Education Department, The Crystal Palace Development Foundation and ex WJGS pupil and rap star, Nadia Rose.
The premier league were given funding to offer schools new football kit. WJGS were chosen by Ex Pupil Nadia Rose to receive the football kit as well as to have the amazing opportunity to have the Premier League Trophy at the school.
Ex WJGS pupil Nadia Rose is a British rapper and songwriter from Croydon. Rose released her debut EP Highly Flammable on 13 January 2017 following the successful singles “Station”, “BOOM”, and “D.F.W.T”. Rose is represented by Sony Music Group under the subsidiary Relentless Records. She came fifth in the BBC’s ‘Sound of 2017’ shortlist. In 2018 she released the track WUT2 and appeared in a Stella McCartney catwalk show in Milan.
The Premier League team gave an assembly where they talked about the Premier League, The Women’s Super League and how they were trying to get more girls involved in football, which is associated with #letthegirlsplay. The girls then had the opportunity to get a close up look at the Premier League Trophy (pictured below).
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Nadia and other guests for their kind visit.
