This year, to celebrate British Science Week, our school completed and was awarded the Crest Award. To achieve this award, our pupils completed eight one-hour science challenges. The challenges provided pupils with a clear real-world context which is appropriate to their level allowing for the development of the following skills:
- investigative and teamwork
- reflective thinking.
- reporting and communicating findings (orally and in writing).
- conducting background research.
- creativity and innovative approach.

Crest is a nationally recognised scheme for student-led project work in the STEM subjects and therefore is a suitable project based learning programme which enhances the curriculum for pupils and supports the learning of Science, Design Technology, English and Maths.
