We are so very proud of our amazing girls who won the recent Loud and Proud Debate Competition pictured here with Cllr Alisa Flemming.

Launched in 2008, this annual competition seeks to engender self confidence, improve communication skills and ultimately encourage girls to play a more prominent role in public life.

How does it fulfil the Soroptimist goals?

  • It empowers – giving girls the confidence to speak publicly
  • It enables – we give them the means to showcase their skills
  • It educates – it encourages the girls to research their chosen subject

The judges’ task always proves challenging when presented with such interesting and intelligent speeches, delivered with great determination, passion and courage by these 10 and 11 year olds.

Well done girls. Amazing work!
