A group of Winterbourne Junior Girls from years 4, 5 and 6 ventured out on an amazing overnight stay in the heart of Sussex at YHA South Downs.

Opened officially by HRH the Queen in 2013, YHA South Downs is a uniquely refurbished Sussex farmhouse in an enviable location right on the South Downs Way. This hostel enjoys substantial grounds of its own and is surrounded by the hills of the South Downs National Park – perfect for anyone wanting to walk in the rolling Sussex countryside.

The trip was funded by “Schools Without Walls” who are an organisation passionate about providing opportunities for children and young people to get outdoors to enjoy, appreciate and learn. Schools Without Walls champions high quality learning outside of the classroom for all young people. They offer a wide range of creative and innovative outdoor learning opportunities to connect with nature, be more active, be creative and have fun.

Of course, we took lots of pictures of our fun packed trip, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view. We would like to thank “Schools Without Walls” for this amazing opportunity. It will be long remembered.
