On Thursday 8th November 2018, our Year Six pupils were treated to a very special workshop in the Hall hosted by the Shakespeare Company “Act On Info”.

Act On Info theatre in education started back in 1999 delivering anti-bullying drama workshops in schools for the Healthy Schools Team in Manchester. We have learned a lot since then and have been running as a community interest company since 2012. This means we are sometimes able to offer our work for free or at a vast discount for some schools, charities, hospital schools and community groups in our local area.

Act On Info is run by Alison Banham, who has been working in theatre in education for the past 16 years, first as an actor, then as a tour coordinator and now as artistic director. Alison spends her  time developing new shows and projects, devising workshops, writing and directing new plays, training actors / facilitators and often wearing a funny hat, the pith helmet is her current favourite. In her career Alison has been lucky enough to develop a wide range of projects in schools nationally and internationally.

The children had an amazing day. We took some pictures during the workshop, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
