On 12th June, our Year 5 girls visited the amazing Herstmonceux Observatory as part of their science projects this term.

The Herstmonceux Observatory, formerly part of the Royal Greenwich Observatory, is now the Observatory Science Centre, a hands-on science and discovery center located in East Sussex. It’s known for its interactive exhibits, telescope tours, and stargazing events, making it a popular destination for visitors of all ages. The center is housed in the historic buildings and domes of the former Royal Greenwich Observatory, which moved there in 1948 to escape light pollution.

We took some pictures of our visit, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
