It’s VE Day today and the 80 anniversary of this great day on 8th May 1945 when Germany surrendered to the allied troops putting an end to six years of conflict across the globe.
As part of the many celebrations taking place throughout the day at Winterbourne Junior Girls’ School, we all sat down today for a delicious traditional lunch of “Bangers and Mash”, better known as sausages and mashed potato served with a rich beef gravy or baked beans.
