Thursday 8 May 2025 marks 80 years since the Victory in Europe (VE Day) when the Second World War came to an end in Europe.

Schools, households and communities throughout the UK and beyond will be hosting a plethora of fantastic celebrations throughout today and the rest of the week.

For our assembly today, we heard about this great day in history when Germany finally surrendered to the allied countries declaring the World War finally over after six long, hard years of battle. The day (8th May 1945) became better known as VE Day (Victory in Europe Day).

We hear some great songs from the girls and also we watch as they observe two minutes of silence to remember those that fell in battle during this terrible war. To watch the video, please click on the play button.
