On 21st June 2019, the entire school joined in to celebrate Windrush Day 2019. This is a new National Day celebrated across the country to commemorate the 1000s of Migrants from across Europe and the Caribbean who set sail from their homelands on the HMS Windrush to start a new life in the UK.

The day was packed with wonderful activities, dances, music and songs. We were also lucky enough to be joined by The Mayor of Croydon and his wife who both thoroughly enjoyed the very special day with us.

At the close of the celebrations, our Mayor addressed the school and let us know how impressed he was with the wonderful performances offered by our children on the day.

We took some pictures throughout the event, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
