Winterbourne Junior Girls’ School has been extremely busy raising much needed funds for the “One Girl” charity, which helps raise awareness and funding to help African girls receive an education. Something that we all take for granted.

Over 130 million girls around the world are denied an education. One Girl works in Sierra Leone and Uganda – some of the most challenging places in the world to be born a girl. Almost 50% of female youth (15-24 years old) in Sierra Leone are illiterate. Up TO 40% of girls in Sierra Leone and Uganda are forced into child marriage. Girls in Sierra Leone do not attend High School!

So far our girls have managed to raise an incredible £400.00, and are looking to raise a further £600.00 before they are done to make it a huge £1000.00 for the charity!

As a special thank you to the girls for working so hard, Jez Hunghanfoo the CEO for the charity sent us this wonderful message of thanks, which you can see below. Please press play to watch.

May we take this opportunity to thank Jez for her kind message. We are only too happy to help raise money for this incredible charity.
